The invention concerns a method and a device for determining the sample of a colour coding ring closest to the colour of at least one element of a patient's set of teeth (3). The method is characterized in that it comprises steps which consist in: with imaging means comprising a video camera (1), inputting and freezing on the screen (7) a colour image (7a) of said set-of-teeth element (3), filming the colour coding ring and displaying on the screen (7) the image of at least one sample, such that said image is side by side with the frozen image (7a) of the set-of-teeth element, visually comparing the image (7a) of the set-of-teeth element (3) frozen on the screen (7) and the sample image.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant la détermination de l'échantillon d'un teintier le plus proche de la couleur d'au moins une partie d'au moins un élément de dentition (3) d'un patient. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte les étapes consistant, à l'aide de moyens de prise de vue comportant une caméra vidéo (1), à saisir et figer à l'écran (7) une image couleur (7a) de cet élément de dentition (3), filmer le teintier et afficher à l'écran (7) l'image d'au moins un échantillon, de façon que cette image se trouve côte à côte de l'image figée (7a) de l'élément de dentition, comparer visuellement l'image (7a) de l'élément de dentition (3) figée à l'écran (7) et l'image de l'échantillon.
