Method consisting in modulating the amplitude of a signal by summing the output signals of two power amplifiers (3, 4) having the same previously defined amplitude but each symmetrically phase-shifted in relation to a reference signal. The resulting sum signal amplitude is a function of the above-mentioned signals and their phase-shifts. Modulation is effected by varying the phase-shift angles according to a modulation set point. Application in solid state power transmitters.

Le procédé consiste à moduler l'amplitude d'un signal en sommant les signaux de sortie de deux amplificateurs de puissance (3, 4) de même amplitude préalablement définie mais déphasés chacun de façon symétrique par rapport à un signal de référence. L'amplitude du signal somme résultant est fonction de l'amplitude des signaux précités et de leurs déphasages. La modulation s'effectue en faisant varier ces angles de déphasage en fonction d'une consigne de modulation. Application; émetteurs de puissance "état solide".
