ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus for stabilizing the electrical power dissipated in a Hall crystal whose internal resistance varies in response to the strength of a magnetic field. In order to minimize the variation of the power dissipation in the Hall crystal, it is supplied from a constant voltage power source while being connected in series to a dropping resistor having an optimized resistance value. The optimal value is chosen as the value which causes the least variation in a power variation equation.
