Method of storing and retrieving information by exposing cells of a storage medium (13) to a first beam of light (10) having a first set of properties affecting the optical properties of said storage medium (13), and by exposing a plurality of individual cells, forming a page of information, of said storage medium (13) to a second beam of light having a second set of properties. A third light beam (19) from said storage medium (13) forms an image of said page on a detecting means (22). The detected light image is converted into electric data signals, each bit of said data signals corresponding to a cell of said storage medium (13). The first beam of light is generated by a first light source (1) and there is provided an electrooptical means (6) having an electric input for receiving data and being arranged for modulating said first light beam in dependance of said data. The storage medium (13) comprises a plurality of pages, each page having a plurality of individual cells, and optical properties of said individual cells of said storage medium (13) being changed by said first light beam to correspond to said data.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour stocker et récupérer de l'information en exposant des cellules d'un support d'information (13) à un premier rayonnement lumineux (10) qui dispose d'une première série de propriétés affectant les propriétés optiques dudit support d'information (13), et en exposant une pluralité de cellules dudit support d'information, chacune séparément, ces cellules formant une page d'information, à un deuxième rayonnement lumineux disposant d'une seconde série de propriétés. A partir dudit support d'information (13), un troisième rayonnement lumineux (19) forme une image de ladite page sur un dispositif de détection (22). L'image lumineuse détectée est convertie en signaux de données électriques, chacun des bits desdits signaux de données correspondant à une cellule dudit support d'information (13). Le premier rayonnement lumineux est généré par une première source de lumière (1). L'invention comporte également un dispositif électro-optique (6) ayant une entrée électrique pour recevoir des données, et conçu pour moduler ledit rayonnement lumineux en fonction desdites données. Le support d'information (13) comprend une pluralité de pages, chacune ayant une pluralité de cellules séparées. Les propriétés optiques desdites cellules séparées dudit support d'information (13) sont modifiées par ledit rayonnement lumineux pour correspondre auxdites données.
