ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure herein describes a method for the automatic reading of the radiation dose of a portable dosimeter with an ionisation chamber provided with a capacitor C1, and a device for carrying out said method; the device measures the value of the ionisation chamber charge at each reading operation and stores the value of the charge of the ionisation chamber; it also calculates the radiation dose D at any moment from one of the stored values and from the value of the charge of the chamber at that moment.
