31 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed are a braking method and a braking device of the type comprising an obstacle connected to a cable which is itself connected to means for the braking of the obstacle, wherein the obstacle is constituted by a retaining shield designed to constitute the initial contact surface of the moving body and of the obstacle, said shield being itself coupled loosely, on the one hand to means of linkage to the retaining cable, which is itself linked to the braking means, and on the other hand also loosely, to a structure formed by parts that are loosely assembled with one another.
