This invention relates to a method of handling knife devices in wood chipping machines, each knife device comprising a knife blade. According to the invention, the method is characterized by the combination of the following steps: the knife blade (6) is provided with a list (8) of a fixed width measure at its rear portion, the knife device (1) getting a width measure, which essentially shall be valid during the use of the knife blade; when re- grinding the knife blade (6), the entire knife device (1) is taken loose from the wood chipping machine, the cutting edge of the knife blade being visually examined and the grinding degree being stipulated; the list (8), sitting on, is taken loose, and a new list the width of which corresponds to the width of the old one plus the grinding degree is fastened on the rear portion of the knife blade (6), whereafter the knife blade is ground and the cutting edge is burred; the finished knife device (1) is either placed directly into the wood chipping machine or into a knife magazine for a later use. The invention also relates to a device which is usable for carrying out the method.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de manipulation des couteaux de machines hache-bois, chaque couteau étant pourvu d'une lame. Le procédé de l'invention comporte les opérations suivantes: la lame (6) étant munie d'une lisse d'appui (8) d'une largeur fixe sur la partie arrière, le couteau (1) adopte une largeur qui restera en vigueur pendant sensiblement toute la durée d'utilisation de la lame de couteau. Pendant l'affûtage de la lame de couteau (6), l'ensemble du couteau (1) est déposé de la machine hache-bois, ce qui permet un examen visuel de la lame du couteau et une évaluation du niveau d'affûtage à réaliser. La lisse d'appui (8), une fois en place, est déposée, et une nouvelle lisse d'appui, dont la largeur correspond à la largeur de l'ancienne, augmentée du niveau d'affûtage, est fixée sur la partie arrière de la lame de couteau (6), à la suite de quoi, la lame de couteau subit un nouvel affûtage et le fil du tranchant subit un ébavurage. Après finition, le couteau (1) est soit directement remonté dans la machine hache-bois, soit rangé pour usage ultérieur dans un étui à couteau. L'invention concerne également un dispositif permettant la mise en oeuvre du procédé.
