Method and apparatus for manufacturing moulded frozen confectionery articles comprising a chocolate shell and a frozen composition filling. The method comprises the moulding of shells with thin walls of chocolate by apportioning liquid chocolate into the alveoli of pre--cooled moulds, and then sucking out the still-liquid chocolate from the centre. The apparatus comprises a suction device accompanying the moulds in continuous translational movement during the suction phase, given a combined reciprocating and up-and- down movement.
