Abstract of the disclosure In this wireless remote control, control signals (SS1 .... SSn) and reporting-back signals (RMl .... RMn) are transmitted bilaterally between at least one each of a portable transmit-receive unit (17), a stationary transmit-receive unit (22a) and a control (43). The portable transmit-receive unit (17) contains a microprocessor (51) and is for example carried in the hand or in a clothing pocket. In that case, control commands are put in anew each time according to the frequency of their occurrence by way of a decade keyboard (ZO .... Zg) or by way of fixed keys (F1 .... Fn) or kept in reserve in a store (59) and sent out by means of the operating mode selector switch (54) as control signals (SS1 .... SSn) selectably in the operating modes "manually on pressing a button" or "automatically, permanently". The signalling is not public and takes place on the indicator (57). The stationary transmit-receive unit (22a) with microprocessor (62) is mounted stationarily in the transmitting range of the associated portable transmit-receive unit (17) and communicates the received control commands to the control (43). This remote control makes a location-independent input of public and non-public operating requests possible in lift installations and thereby a conveniently and secure call issue to protected storeys. Method and equipment are equally applicable also to the operation of doors, escalators, turnstiles and so forth and accordingly are suitable generally for the checking of the access and for the easing of the personnel traffic in buildings.
