In order to treat water contaminated with warfare agents and containing less than 500 ppm of salt, a separation stage (10) is normally provided downstream of the reverse osmosis. In the separation stage, the untreated water is divided into residue and permeate. Warfare agents have the property of acting as softeners on the semi-permeable organic polymer membranes of separation stages. As a result of this, the warfare agents pass through the membranes of separation stages in increasing quantities once the latter have been in operation for a few hours. In order to improve the treatment of water contaminated with warfare agents, salt is added to the untreated water which, with a salt content of over 1000 ppm, is then drawn through the separation stage (10) downstream of the reverse osmosis stage. The invention is suitable for use with mobile facilities used for producing drinking water.
Pour traiter les eaux contaminées par des agents chimiques de combat et présentant une teneur en sel inférieure à 500 ppm, on utilise habituellement un étage de séparation (10) fonctionnant selon le principe de l'osmose inverse. Dans cet étage de séparation, on sépare l'eau non traitée en rétentat et perméat. Les agents chimiques de combat ont la propriété d'agir comme des plastifiants sur les membranes semi-perméables des étages de séparation, composées de polymères organiques. Il en résulte que les agents chimiques de combat traversent les membranes des étages de séparation en quantités croissantes, au bout de quelques heures de fonctionnement de ces membranes. L'invention vise à améliorer le traitement des eaux contaminées par des agents chimiques de combat. A cet effet, on sale l'eau non traitée, avant de l'acheminer avec une teneur en sel supérieure à 1000 ppm vers un étage de séparation (10) fonctionnant selon le principe de l'osmose inverse. L'invention peut être utilisée pour des installations mobiles de production d'eau potable.
