The invention concerns decontamination of the neck of thermoplastic preforms (4) designed for making containers through a blow forming or extrusion blow moulding process, when feeding (in A) the preforms (4) sequentially into a unit (B) for manufacturing containers, which consists in passing the neck of the preforms (4) through a mist (in 9) of a decontaminating product, then in subjecting the neck of the preforms (4) wetted by the decontaminating products to the action of an ultraviolet radiation (in 7) for a least a predetermined minimum time interval.

L'invention concerne la décontamination du col de préformes (4) en matière thermoplastique destinées à la fabrication de récipients par un processus de soufflage ou d'étirage-soufflage; lors de l'alimentation (en A) des préformes (4) les unes à la suite des autres dans une unité (B) de fabrication des récipients, on fait d'abord passer les cols des préformes (4) dans un brouillard (en 9) d'un produit de décontamination, puis on soumet les cols des préformes (4) mouillés par le produit de décontamination à l'action d'un rayonnement ultraviolet (en 7) pendant au moins une durée minimale prédéterminée.
