The invention concerns a method and an installation for drying fibrous material (14). The method comprises a step which consists in ventilating (1) through the fibrous material (14) located in a drying zone (13), very moist air. The moisture content of the moist air is less than that inside the drying zone, its pressure close to atmospheric pressure and its temperature is higher than that of the material to be dried. The method further comprises a step which consists in recovering (22, 6) the condensation heat of the water vapour extracted from the fibrous material to heat the moist air, providing leaks (9, 10, 36, 43) between outside ambient air and said ventilation circuit upstream and downstream of the drying zone enabling mass and heat exchange. It is possible to ensure thermal and mass balance without expelling into ambient air large amounts of moist air.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et une installation de séchage de matière fibreuse (14). Le procédé comprend l'étape de ventiler (1) à travers la matière fibreuse (14) située une zone de séchage (13), de l'air très humide. Le taux d'humidité de l'air humide est inférieur à celui à l'intérieur de la zone de séchage, sa pression voisine de la pression atmosphérique et sa température est supérieure à celle du matériau à sécher. Le procédé comprend en outre l'étape: de récupérer (22, 6) la chaleur de condensation de la vapeur d'eau extraite de la matière fibreuse pour chauffer l'air humide, de ménager des fuites (9, 10, 36, 43) entre l'air ambiant extérieur et ledit circuit de ventilation en amont et en aval de la zone de séchage permettent un échange massique et thermique. Il est possible d'assurer les équilibres thermiques et massiques sans rejeter vers l'air ambiant des quantités substantielles d'air humide.
