Prior to passing through pumping apparatus (60) effluent gas containing hydrocarbons is subjected to washing by being sprayed with aromatic type oil in oil-recirculating washing apparatus (30). Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons contained in the effluent gas are trapped by being absorbed in the oil. The method is suitable for treating effluent gas coming from an installation for chemical vapor deposition or infiltration using a reagent gas containing a precursor for pyrolytic carbon, or else coming from a cementation installation.
Un gaz effluent contenant des hydrocarbures est soumis à un lavage par pulvérisation d'huile de type aromatique dans un dispositif de lavage (30) à recirculation d'huile avant passage dans un dispositif de pompage (60). Les hydrocarbures aromatiques polycycliques contenus dans le gaz effluent sont piégés par absorption dans l'huile. Le procédé convient au traitement de gaz effluent issu d'installation d'infiltration ou dépôt chimique en phase vapeur utilisant un gaz réactif qui contient un précurseur de carbone pyrolytique, ou encore d'installation de cémentation.
