The invention relates to a method comprising steps wherein at least partially retted plants are collected and wound into balls, said method being characterised in that the plants that are collected and wound up are fibrous plants with previously cut tops and bottoms. The invention also relates to a machine that is characterised in that it comprises means (3) for collecting at least partially retted plants with previously cut tops and bottoms, means (4) for grinding the stems of the plants without tops and bottoms in order to break the wood filaments contained therein, means (10) for scarifying the ground stems in order to release the wood filaments and shives, means (31) for laying flat the fibres scutched in this way, and means (32) for winding the same into balls.
Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à ramasser et à enrouler des plantes rouies au moins partiellement, et est caractérisé en ce que les étapes de ramassage et d'enroulement sont réalisées sur des plantes fibreuses dont les têtes et les pieds ont été coupés antérieurement. Quant à la machine, elle est caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend des moyens (3) pour ramasser des plantes rouies au moins partiellement, dont les têtes et les pieds ont été coupés antérieurement, des moyens (4) pour broyer les tiges des plantes sans tête et sans pied afin de casser les filaments de bois qu'elles renferment, des moyens (10) pour décortiquer les tiges broyées afin de les débarrasser des fragments de filaments de bois et des anas, des moyens (31) pour disposer à plat les fibres ainsi teillées, et des moyens (32) pour enrouler ces dernières sous forme de balles.
