ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of measuring surface tension of liquids which are only available in small quantities, for example the measurement of the surface tension of fetal water to ascer- tain lung development of the fetus. The liquid is discharged from a liquid container by a pump and the pump displacement required to press out each drop from the container is measured.
