In each case one printed product (4) or a small number of printed products, such as e.g. newspapers, periodicals or brochures, are packed in high capacity flow, in that they are supplied to insertion compartments (10) of e.g. a packing drum (1) and are inserted there into packing elements (3). The packing elements still in the insertion compartments are closed round the printed products to be packed and the packed products (5) are led out of the insertion compartments in the form of a high capacity flow. As a function of the design of the insertion compartments and the drum very varied pack forms can be obtained.
