ABSTRACT A method for producing a thrust provides for the formation of an annular axial stream from gaseous pro- ducts fed with a supercritical pressure drop and its acceleration to subsonic speed, changing the direction of the subsonic annular stream to a radial stream with opposing movement and subsequently colliding the radial jets in a braking zone, which is accompanied by a change in the direction of movement to axial with discharge into the ambient medium, wherein adjustment of the thrust intensity (modulus) is effected by changing the flow rate of the radial jets and/or the flow rate of the axial stream discharged into the ambient medium, while adjustment of the thrust vector is effected by deflecting the velocity vector of the axial stream from the axial direction when it is being discharged into the ambient medium. The nozzle for producing the thrust comprises a housing, a central body with a flat base secured to the housing, a casing encompassing the central body and made as a sleeve, the end face of which has the form of profiled outlet edges forming together with the flat base of the central body a slot radial channel with a critical cross section and axial outlet, wherein the casing is provided with means for its axial movement and means for radial movement of the outlet edges, while the central body is provided with means for angular movement of the flat base from a position perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the nozzle.
