A package for holding and dispensing surgical masks (40), respirators, face shields and other articles having eye shields (44) made from a substantially transparent, flexible material susceptible to abrasion or scratching. The surgical masks are stacked within the container one upon another and a fanning force is applied to each eye shield such that the eye shields become semi-rigid and fan apart, one from the next in the stack. In such condition scratching caused by the eye shields rubbing against each other is virtually eliminated, and the surgical masks are dispensed in a convenient scratch-free manner. According to the invention, this is achieved by providing the container with a raised central portion (24) for bending the eye shields.

La présente invention a pour objet un emballage destiné à contenir et à distribuer des masques chirurgicaux (40), des respirateurs, des écrans faciaux et autres articles contenant des couvre-oeil (44), réalisés dans un matériau essentiellement transparent, souple et s'usant ou se rayant facilement. Les masques chirurgicaux sont empilés les uns sur les autres dans l'emballage en question et un souffle d'air fourni par ventilateur est appliqué à chaque couvre-oeil de façon à le rendre semi-rigide et à le séparer de ses voisins. Dans de telles conditions, on élimine presque entièrement les rayures dues au frottement des couvre-oeil entre eux et les masques chirurgicaux sont distribués facilement sans risque d'être rayés. Selon cette invention, ce résultat est obtenu grâce à une partie surélevée (24) placée au centre de l'emballage, qui permet de plier les couvre-oeil.
