Up to a certain value (D1) of the demanded flow rate (D), this flow rate is brought to the working pressure and is sent to the consumer pipe. When the demanded flow rate is less than the value (D1), the complement to (D1) is brought to a high pressure, greater than the working pressure, and is sent into a buffer tank. Above the value (D1), the flow rate is supplemented by a flow rate which is drawn from the buffer tank and expanded to the working pressure. Application to supplying oxygen to steel works with electric arc furnaces or to copper refineries.

Jusqu'à une certaine valeur (D1) du débit demandé, ce débit est porté à la pression de service et est envoyé à la conduite du consommateur. Si le débit demandé est moins élevé que la valeur (D1), le surplus de (D1) est porté à une pression élevée, supérieure à la pression de service, et est envoyé dans un réservoir tampon. Au-dessus de la valeur (D1), le débit est augmenté par un débit qui est retiré du réservoir tampon et ajouté à la pression de service. L'invention permet de distribuer de l'oxygène aux fours électriques à arc et aux affineries de cuivre.
