A method for the manufacture of a strip of formable steel comprises the steps of (i) forming liquid steel by continuous casting into a slab having a thickness of not more than 100 mm, (ii) rolling the slab in the austenitic region into an intermediate slab having a thickness in the range 5 to 20 mm, (iii) cooling the intermediate slab to below the Ar3 temperature, (iv) holding the intermediate slab in an enclosure for temperature homogenisation, (v) rolling the intermediate slab into strip, with at least one rolling pass applying a thickness reduction of more than 50 %, at a temperature below Tt and above 200 ~C, where Tt is the temperature at which 75 % of the steel is converted into ferrite, and (vi) coiling said strip at a temperature above 500 ~C. Advantages of simplicity of the method and the plant required for it are obtained.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une bande d'acier formable, lequel procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: (i) mettre de l'acier en fusion sous forme d'une brame d'une épaisseur n'excédant pas 100 mm par coulage continu; (ii) laminer cette brame dans la région austénitique de manière à obtenir une brame intermédiaire d'une épaisseur variant entre 5 et 20 mm; (iii) refroidir la brame intermédiaire à une température inférieure à celle de l'Ar¿3?; (iv) maintenir la brame intermédiaire dans une enceinte afin d'homogénéiser la température; (v) laminer la brame intermédiaire en une bande lors d'une passe ou plus et en effectuant une réduction de l'épaisseur supérieure à 50 %, ceci à une température inférieure à T¿t? et supérieure à 200 ·C, T¿t? étant la température à laquelle 75 % de l'acier est transformé en ferrite; et (vi) embobiner ladite bande à une température supérieure à 500 ·C. Ce système offre avantages et simplicité, tant en ce qui concerne le procédé que l'installation qui permet de le réaliser.
