This invention relates to a method of coating a non-polar substrate comprising the steps of applying a primer comprising one or more silane-functional non- polar polymers on the non-polar substrate and subsequently applying one or more layers of a pigmented coating over the primer layer. In a further aspect this invention relates to a primer for a non-polar substrate.
