A method and process used to remotely verify the identity of an individual by capturing live biometric information from the individual and information from photo identification provided by the individual then electronically sending the information to a remote operator for comparison. The method involves the steps of electronically capturing the image, printed text and or encoded information from the front and or back of a photo identification document; capturing an image and or video clip of the individual who provided the photo identification; and transmitting the information across a network and displaying the information to an operator.
