The system of the invention comprises: a first sensor (8) operating in a first spectral band and a second sensor (12) operating in a second complementary spectral band, respectively providing first and second signals corresponding to the runway and the environment thereof; a database (17) containing the signatures of elements that can be present on the runway in both spectral bands and a graphic representation of said elements; a processing unit (14) for acquiring and analysing the signals and, after said analysis, for: generating on a screen visible by the pilot a background image with an optimal quality based on the light and/or weather conditions; detecting by correlation with the signatures in the database the potential presence of elements on the runway; and inserting in the background image the graphic representation of the detected elements.
Le système comprend : - un premier capteur (8) dans une première bande spectrale et un deuxième capteur (12) dans une deuxième bande spectrale complémentaire, fournissant respectivement un premier et un deuxième signaux correspondant à la piste et à son environnement; - une base de données (17) contenant les signatures d'éléments pouvant se trouver sur la piste, dans les deux bandes spectrales, et une représentation graphique de ces éléments; - une unité de traitement (14) pour acquérir et analyser les signaux et, suite à cette analyse : générer, sur un écran visible par le pilote, une image de fond de qualité optimale selon les conditions de luminosité et/ou météorologiques; détecter, par corrélation avec les signatures de la base de données, la présence éventuelle d'éléments sur la piste; incruster sur l'image de fond la représentation graphique des éléments détectés.
