The system includes a rotational speed sensor (4) and a processor (6) operable to provide at an output signal (S approx.) equal to at least one of signals (S3, S'3, S5, S'5 and S7 S'7) according to the number of speed measurements made by sensor (4) within a predetermined time period (T).
