There is described a method and system for automatically logging in a user to an Internet-enabled computing device. The computing device runs a validation application and has access to information specific to the user, namely user-specific information. The method comprises initiating a call from a first telephone means to a second telephone means. The call has associated thereto calling line identification (CLID) information. The second telephone means provides access to the Internet-enabled computing device. The validation application, on the Internet-enabled computing device, compares the CLID information to the user-specific information. The method further comprises validating the CLID information using the comparison, and upon positive validation, logging in the user to the Internet-enabled computing device.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système pour connecter automatiquement un utilisateur à un dispositif informatique compatible Internet, ce dispositif informatique exécutant une application de validation et ayant accès à des informations spécifiques de l'utilisateur. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à émettre un appel d'un premier moyen téléphonique à un second moyen téléphonique, des informations d'identification de la ligne appelante (ILA) étant associées à l'appel. Le second moyen téléphonique donne accès au dispositif informatique compatible Internet. L'application de validation sur le dispositif informatique compatible Internet compare les informations ILA avec les informations spécifiques de l'utilisateur. Le procédé consiste en outre à valider les informations ILA à l'aide de la comparaison et, lorsque la validation est positive, à connecter l'utilisateur au dispositif informatique compatible Internet.
