Discloses a system to provide cellular handset operational status information to wireless carriers relating to insertion or proximity of mobile cellular handsets to a hybrid fixed wireless interface (HFWI) device. Upon handset coupling to a HFWI, by insertion of the handset into a receiving connector on the HFWI or proximity of the handset to the HFWI, the system controls the handset to update the signalling protocol to inform the wireless carrier of an interfaced and operational operation mode. In an alternative arrangement upon handset coupling to the HFWI, the HFWI instructs the handset to transmit an interfaced and operational mode of operation message to the wireless carrier. In a preferred embodiment upon removal of the handset from the HFWI, or the handset being taken out of reach of HFWI proximity sensing, the system reverts to the conventional signalling protocol indicating a non-interfaced (mobile) operation mode to the carrier.
La présente invention concerne un système pour fournir des informations d'état opérationnel de combiné cellulaire à des porteuses sans fils, se rapportant à une insertion ou à une proximité de combinés cellulaires mobiles par rapport à un dispositif d'interface sans fil fixe hybride (hybrid fixed wireless interface : HFWI). Lorsque le combiné est couplé à un HFWI, par insertion du combiné dans un connecteur de réception situé sur le HFWI ou par proximité du combiné par rapport au HFWI, le système selon cette invention commande le combiné afin de mettre à jour le protocole de signalisation, en vue d'informer la porteuse sans fil d'un mode de fonctionnement en interface et d'un mode de fonctionnement opérationnel. En variante, lorsque le combiné est couplé au HFWI, le HFWI donne l'instruction au combiné de transmettre un message de mode de fonctionnement en interface et opérationnel à la porteuse sans fil. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, lorsque le combiné est retiré du HFWI ou que le combiné est hors de la portée de détection de proximité de HFWI, le système revient au protocole de signalisation conventionnel, indiquant à la porteuse un mode de fonctionnement qui n'est pas en interface (mobile).
