ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for performing binary-to- decimal conversion distinguishes between two major subdivisions of the information represented by the binary values and signifies the type of information for each value by a so-called attribute bit. The attribute bits for several binary values can be encoded into a single decimal digit while each binary value is itself converted to a reduced number of decimal digits.
