The present invention relates to a method and system for client/server computing acceleration using approach computing, the method and system are advantageously employed in a client/server computer network. The method includes the steps of caching a server sub-component on the network in a location approaching a requesting client computer, caching supporting data required by the server sub-component on the network in a location approaching the requesting client computer, and processing the cached supporting data employing the cached server sub-component to provide content to the requesting client computer that satisfies the request in an accelerated manner.
