A method for controlling the use and re-use of digital images, including the steps of providing by a first server computer to a client computer a digital image file including a digital image and including goods and services data, the goods and services data determining at least one link to at least one web page, displaying the digital image on the client computer, in response to a first interactive command performed by a user on the displayed digital image, further displaying the at least one link to at least one web page, and, in response to a second interactive command performed by the user on the displayed at least one link, delivering by a second server computer to the client computer, a web page indicated by the at least one link. A system is also described and claimed.
