A method and system for controlling the cooling of small milk quantities in a cooling tank (2) having a bottom wall portion (12) with a milk cooling surface (12') within the tank being part of a cooling circuit, an agitator means (19) within the tank for stirring the milk therein. The gist of the invention is: a) providing a means (10) for measuring the milk quantity in the tank, and a temperature transducer (11) for monitoring the milk temperature in the tank, b) providing, in the cooling circuit, an evaporator (4) connected to the bottom wall portion of the tank, a compressor (5), and a condenser (7), c) controlling the temperature of the refrigerant in the evaporator by regulating the vaporizing pressure, so that the temperature of the milk cooling surface (12') is always higher than 0°C, whereas the refrigerant temperature in the evaporator (4) is below 0°C when the compressor (5) is running, d) monitoring the milk quantity in the tank, and, when same turns out to be sufficient/insufficient for the agitator means (19) to work properly, starting/stopping the operation of the agitator means.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de régulation du refroidissement de faibles quantités de lait dans un bac de refroidissement (2) possédant une paroi inférieure (12), avec une surface de refroidissement du lait (12') à l'intérieur du bac faisant partie d'un circuit de refroidissement, ainsi qu'un agitateur (19) placé à l'intérieur du bac et servant à y remuer le lait. L'invention permet : a) de fournir un moyen (10) pour mesurer la quantité de lait dans le bac et un transducteur de température (11) servant à contrôler la température du lait dans le bac, b) de fournir dans le circuit de refroidissement un évaporateur (4) relié à la paroi inférieure du bac, un compresseur (5) et un condenseur (7), c) de réguler la température du réfrigérant dans l'évaporateur par la commande de la pression de vaporisation, de manière que la température de la surface (12') de refroidissement du lait soit toujours supérieure à 0 DEG C, tandis que la température du réfrigérant dans l'évaporateur (4) est inférieure à 0 DEG C lorsque le compresseur (5) fonctionne, et d) de contrôler la quantité de lait dans le bac et d'actionner/arrêter l'agitateur lorsque cette quantité est suffisante/insuffisante pour que ledit agitateur (19) fonctionne bien.
