A method and a system for detecting surface defects on electronic circuits, such as Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), are described herein. The method first comprises identifying contours on a digital image of the PCB. Then anomalies are detected on the PCB image by comparing the identified contours to contours on a vectorial model of the PCB. Each detected anomally is compared to manufacturing data to verify it if corresponds to a defect.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant de détecter les défauts de surface sur des circuits électroniques, notamment des cartes imprimées. Ledit procédé consiste, tout d'abord, à identifier des contours sur une image numérique de la carte imprimée. Ensuite, on détecte les anomalies sur l'image de la carte imprimée en comparant les contours identifiés aux contours représentés sur un modèle vectoriel de la carte imprimée. Enfin, on compare chaque anomalie détectée à des données de fabrication afin de vérifier si ladite anomalie correspond à un défaut.
