Method and system for determination and display of a miss hit when firing at an airborne target (10, 10') by means of a projectile (16) fired through a gun (12). Using an image pick-up system (14.1 to 14.4), two sequences of images both of the airborne target (10) and of the projectile (16) are recorded respectively, and synchronously to this, two sequences of angle pairs are recorded respectively, which define the respective positions of the airborne target (10, 10') and the projectile (16). Using an image processing system (20.1 to 20.4) and a computer system (22.1, 22.2), a respective time-space flight path is calculated for the airborne target (10, 10') and for the projectile (16) from the sequences of the images and angle pairs, and these flight paths are compared in order to determine therefrom. the miss hit defined as the minimum distance between the airborne target (10, 10') and the projectile (16). The miss hit is then displayed at the location of the gun (12). Determination of the miss hit is partly a real time process, partly a quasi real time process, and display of the miss hit is a quasi real time process.

Ces trajectoires de vol sont ensuite comparées afin de déterminer si un tir est raté, un tir rate étant défini comme la distance minimale entre la cible aérienne (10, 10') et le projectile (16). Le tir raté est ensuite visualisé à l'endroit où se trouve le fusil (12). La reconnaissance d'un tir raté s'effectue en partie en temps réel et en partie en temps presque réel, et la visualisation du tir raté s'effectue en temps presque réel.
