A focal plan array system of the bolometer type having means for determining the rate of non-uniformity which comprises: (a) an array of i x j pixel detectors of the bolometer type for sensing scenery radiation; (b) a case which accommodates said array of detectors, said case having a front window that provides exposure to the sensing element of all the i x j pixel detectors to radiation coming from the scenery; (c) at least a portion of column j + 1 of blind detectors that are shielded from the scenery by a homogeneous reference surface; (d) reading circuitry for reading indication for the scenery radiation as sensed by each of the i x j detectors of the array, and for reading indication for the non uniformity as sensed by said detectors in column (j+1); (e) a register for recording the radiation values as read from all the detectors within column (j+1); and (f) a processing unit for finding the standard deviation .sigma. of all the values in said register, and for comparing the same to a predetermined threshold Q, wherein a standard deviation above Q being an indication for a non uniformity above the allowed level.
L'invention concerne un système de réseau en plan focal du type d'un bolomètre qui comprend: (a) un réseau de détecteurs de pixel i x j du type de bolomètre, destinés à détecteur le rayonnement de l'environnement; (b) un boîtier qui contient ledit réseau de détecteurs, ledit boîtier possédant une fenêtre frontale qui assure une exposition à l'élément de détection de tous les détecteurs de pixel i x j au rayonnement de l'environnement; (c) au moins une partie de la colonne j + 1 qui sont blindés par rapport à l'environnement par une surface de référence homogène; (d) un circuit de lecture destiné à lire l'affichage du rayonnement de l'environnement, détecté par chacun des détecteurs i x j du réseau, et pour lire les indications pour le rayonnement du boîtier par ladite au moins la colonne j + 1; (e) un registre servant à enregistrer les valeurs de rayonnement telles que lue de tous les détecteurs dans la colonne j + 1; et (f) une unité de traitement pour trouver la déviation standard s des valeurs dans ledit registre et pour la comparer à un seuil prédéterminé Q, une déviation standard au-dessus de Q étant une indication de la non-uniformité au-dessus du niveau permis.
