ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to a method and a system for the direct prospection and quick localization of hydrocarbon deposits. The method basically comprises the steps of install- in an aray of measuring electrodes and of orthogonal induction antennas within the area defined by another array of injection electrodes and induction loops positioned above the hydrocarbon deposit to be investigated. Then, by selection of a combination of connections of transmitting electrodes and induction loops and mixing of the frequency spectra and phases on a processor, one can obtain a pattern recognition of the deposit, and can carry out prospecting measurements and readings of the quantity of deposit.
