The invention is directed to a computer-implemented method for duplicating an object using a touch-sensitive display. The method comprises: - displaying (10) a selected first object (12) on the touch-sensitive display; - detecting a first user interaction and a second user interaction (14) on the selected first object; - detecting a movement (16) of the first user interaction outside the selected first object; - displaying a second object (20) which tracks the movement of the first user interaction on the touch-sensitive display, the second object being a duplication of the first object; and - positioning the second object (26) according to a last detected location of the first user interaction on the touch-sensitive display.
