- 1 - SUMMARY The invention relates to a method for inking the plate of a plate cylinder and to an inking system for carrying out this method on the assumption that the inking system features not more than two inking rollers of the same diameter assigned to the plate cylinder relative to an inking cylinder and that a zoneless distribution system is used to reduce a consistent, relatively thick ink film via a train of inking rollers and that the forme is inked with a thin, consistent ink film via the inking cylinder and the inking rollers.
