A method is disclosed for locating a terminal (T) in a local wireless telecommunications network (N), adapted to provide an estimated position of the terminal (T) depending on a set of configuration data, and a set of measuring data indicating whether the terminal (T) belongs to a subset of said coverage areas and acquired from terminal (T) or network (N). The set of configuration data comprises a plurality of data bases of configurations, each one having a respective weight function, and the set of measuring data comprises a plurality of measuring types, depending on the type of terminal. The method comprises: associating, to every combination of a data base of configurations and a measuring type, a respective locating procedure corresponding to an accuracy value of the locating estimation; and actuating the locating procedure related to a combination selected by executing a related processing program. The invention also deals with a processing system and a processing program or group of programs that can be executed by the system, arranged to perform the above method.
La présente invention a trait à un procédé de localisation d'un terminal (T) dans un réseau local de télécommunications sans fil (N), apte à fournir une position estimée du terminal (T) en fonction d'un ensemble de données de configuration, et d'un ensemble de données de mesure indiquant l'appartenance ou non du terminal (T) à un sous-ensemble desdites zones de couverture et acquises du terminal (T) ou du réseau (N). L'ensemble de données de configuration comprend une pluralité de bases de données de configurations, chacune ayant une fonction de pondération respective, et l'ensemble de données de mesure comprend une pluralité de types de mesures, selon le type de terminal. Le procédé comprend : l'association, à chaque combinaison d'une base de données de configurations et d'un type de mesure, une procédure de localisation respective correspondant à une valeur de précision de l'estimation de localisation ; et le lancement d'une procédure de localisation associée à une combinaison sélectionnée par l'exécution d'un programme de traitement associé. L'invention a également trait à un système de traitement et un programme de traitement ou un groupe de programmes de traitement qui peut/peuvent être exécuté(s) par le système, agencé pour la mise en oeuvre dudit procédé.
