A method and system for monitoring out-put power of transceivers in radiocommunication systems are described. By evaluating a statistic associated with pre- and past handoff received signals, information can be gathered regarding the transmit power operating characteristic of various transceivers. For example, by measur-ing the received signal strength of a neighbor-ing base station's control channel prior to hand-off and comparing that with the received signal strength of a traffic channel transmitted by the same base station after handoff, the system can acquire information regarding the power output of a base station transceiver. Over time, the sys-tem can determine whether one or more power settings associated with that transceiver needs ad-justment.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant de surveiller la puissance de sortie d'émetteurs-récepteurs de systèmes de radiocommunication. L'évaluation d'une statistique associée à des signaux reçus avant et après transfert permet d'obtenir des informations sur la puissance de transmission de différents émetteurs-récepteurs.
