A contactless precision, optical distance and angle measurement method and system optically measuring the position of a moveable object (S), the bending of the object (S), the torque applied to the object (S) and the object's rotational velocity. The present invention includes a plurality of optical sensors (111, 11n) placed around and adjacent to the moveable object (S) which transmit optical signals to a surface (35) of the object (S) and receives the optic signals when predefined marker means (33n) are sensed. The received optic signals are then processed by non-linear estimation techniques known to those of skill in the art to obtain the desired information.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de mesure optique des distances et des angles, de précision et sans contact, permettant de mesurer optiquement la position d'un objet mobile (S), l'inclinaison de cet objet (S), le couple appliqué audit objet (S) et la vitesse de rotation dudit objet. La présente invention porte sur une pluralité de capteurs optiques (11¿1?, 11¿n?) disposés, de façon adjacente, autour de l'objet mobile (S), qui émettent des signaux optiques en direction d'une surface (35) de l'objet (S) et reçoivent les signaux optiques lorsque des moyens (33¿n?) de marquage prédéfinis sont détectés. On traite ensuite les signaux optiques reçus par des techniques d'estimation non linéaires connues des spécialistes du domaine pour obtenir les informations voulues.
