A method and system for optimizing the performance of a rotodynamic multi- phase flow booster, such as a wet gas compressor (1), utilizes a meter which measures the fluid density .rho. upstream of the booster and controls the speed of rotation .OMEGA. of the rotor(s) of the booster, such that the booster operates at its best efficiency point (BEP) irrespective of variations of the fluid density .rho.. Suitably the flow booster is a wet gas compressor (1) having rotor and/or stator blades having a rough leading edge and non-wettable sides which promote a favourable finely dispersed mist flow so that the compressor (1) also operates at its BEP if the compressed wet gas has a high liquid content.

Selon l'invention, un procédé et système pour optimiser les performances d'un accélérateur de flux rotodynamique multiphasé tel qu'un compresseur (1) de gaz humides utilisent un compteur qui mesure la densité du flux rho en amont de l'accélérateur et régule la vitesse de rotation OMEGA du ou des rotor(s) de l'accélérateur, de manière à ce que l'accélérateur fonctionne à son point d'efficacité maximal (BEP) indépendamment des variations de la densité du fluide rho . Par conséquent, l'accélérateur de flux se présente comme un compresseur (1) de gaz comportant des pales de rotor et/ou de stator possédant un bord d'attaque rugueux et des côtés non humidifiés qui favorisent l'apparition d'un flux de brouillard finement dispersé de manière à ce que le compresseur (1) fonctionne aussi à son BEP si le gaz humide comprimé possède une teneur en gaz élevée.
