A communications network and method for over the air service programming a mobile station (2), where the mobile station transmits a service programming request to a communications network, which results in the mobile station (2) being connected to a customer service center (26). The customer service center (26) queries the user of mobile station (2) for information in response to which the customer service center (26) selects a home location register (18) and authentication center (22) within the communication network with which the mobile station (2) is to be associated. Service programming information associated with the mobile station (2) is transferred from the home location register (18) and/or the authentication center (22) into the mobile station (2).

Réseau de communications et procédé permettant de programmer par la voie des airs les services d'une station mobile (2), lorsque cette station mobile émet une demande de programmation de services en direction du réseau de communications. La station mobile (2) est alors connectée à un centre de service clientèle (26). Ce centre de service clientèle (26) demande à l'utilisateur de la station mobile (2) des informations sur la base desquels il choisit un enregistreur de localisation nominale (18) et un centre d'authentification (22) à l'intérieur du réseau de communication auquel la station mobile (2) doit être associée.
