A system (10) and a method for performing a boolean operation on bit strings to form a resultant bit string. Each bit string is divided into input bit slices. The resultant bit string is divided into resultant bit slices. An action is based on a first input bit slice from a first bit string and on a second input bit slice from a second bit string. The input bit slice with a longer bit length is selected from between the first and the second input bit slices. The longer input bit slice and a plurality of the input bit slices in the bit string having the input bit slice with shorter bit length are processed according to the action for up to a number of bits in at least one bit string equaling the longer bit length to form at least one such resultant bit slice.
La présente invention concerne un système (10) et un procédé permettant d'effectuer une opération booléenne sur des chaînes binaires pour constituer une chaîne binaire résultante. Le procédé consiste à diviser chaque chaîne binaire en groupes de bits d'entrée. La chaîne binaire résultante est ainsi divisée en groupes de bits résultants. Le procédé consiste ensuite à effectuer une opération en fonction d'un premier groupe de bits d'entrée d'une première chaîne binaire et d'un second groupe de bits d'entrée d'une seconde chaîne binaire. Le système sélectionne, parmi le premier et le second groupe de bits d'entrée, celui qui présente la plus grande longueur binaire. Le groupe de bits d'entrée le plus long et une pluralité de groupes de bits d'entrée de la chaîne binaire comportant un groupe binaire plus court sont traités en fonction de l'opération s'exécutant sur un nombre de bits appartenant au moins à la chaîne binaire dont la longueur binaire est égale à la longueur binaire supérieure, et ce, afin de former un tel groupe binaire résultant.
