Le procédé décrit dans cette invention consiste à faire fonctionner la pompe à une vitesse prédéterminée, puis à surveiller le débit de pompage diastolique du patient. La vitesse prédéterminée est modifiée en fonction de ce débit. La vitesse de pompage peut être également réglée en réaction à la fréquence cardiaque du patient.
