A method, system and apparatus for managing power use in security systems, which include establishing a detection region, triggering a person detection event, the person detection event based on the detection of a person in the detection region, starting a timer upon triggering the person detection event, and transmitting a tag interrogation signal until the expiration of the timer. The method, system and apparatus can further include determining a relative direction of movement of the person.

L'invention concerne un procédé, un système et un appareil servant à gérer une utilisation de la puissance dans des systèmes de sécurité. Ces derniers consistant à établir une région de détection, déclencher un événement de détection de personne, l'événement de détection de personne étant basé sur la détection d'une personne dans la région de détection, démarrer un temporisateur lors du déclenchement de l'événement de détection de personne, et transmettre un signal d'interrogation de balise jusqu'à expiration du temporisateur. Le procédé, le système et l'appareil peuvent en outre consister à déterminer une direction relative du mouvement de la personne.
