A system and method for conducting a multi-person, interactive auction, in a variety of formats, without using a human auctioneer to conduct the auction. The system is preferably implemented in software. The system allows a group of bidders to interactively place bids over a computer or communications network. Those bids are recorded by the system and the bidders are updated with the current auction status information. When appropriate, the system closes the auction from further bidding and notifies the winning bidders and losers as to the auction outcome.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé pour effectuer des enchères interactives entre plusieurs personnes, sous plusieurs formats, sans qu'il y ait de commissaire-priseur pour diriger les enchères. Ledit système est de préférence mis en oeuvre dans un logiciel. Ledit système permet à un groupe d'offrants de faire des offres de manière interactive par l'intermédiaire d'un ordinateur ou d'un réseau de télécommunications. Ces offres sont enregistrées par le système et les offrants sont informés en permanence du dernier état des enchères. Lorsque le moment est venu, le système clôt les enchères et informe les gagnants et les perdants des résultats.
