A" method and system for providing portions of information content to a client device (106) is presented. The present application provides a manner of personalizing information content for display on handheld or mobile devices. A user may identify sections of a web page as clips, and then request only the identified section instead of the entire web page from a server (104). Upon receiving the request, the server will load the web page, retrieve the identified section, transform the identified section for display on the client device, and then send the transformed information to the client device. The clip of information is then a live update from a web page that presents the latest content from a web page instead of a cached web page section.
La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé de distribution de parties de contenu d'informations à un dispositif client. Cette invention permet de personnaliser un contenu d'informations pour l'afficher sur des dispositifs portatifs ou mobiles. Un utilisateur peut identifier des parties d'une page Web sous forme de séquences, puis demander uniquement la partie identifiée plutôt que la page toute entière par le biais d'un serveur. Lorsque le serveur reçoit la requête, ce dernier charge la page Web, retrouve la partie identifiée, transforme la partie identifiée pour l'afficher sur le dispositif client puis envoie les informations transformées au dispositif client. La séquence d'informations est alors une actualisation en direct d'une page Web qui présente le contenu le plus récent d'une page Web plutôt qu'un partie de page Web mise en mémoire tampon.
