The present invention is related to a method and system for providing a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) (10) status, in providing real time services via a wireless local area network interworking with 3GPP systems (20). An entity such as a packet data gateway (PDG) (24) in the 3GPP network stores and maintains the current state of the WTRU and updates the state of the WTRU when it changes. The WTRU signals a change in its state to the PDG. When the PDG receives a message from the 3GPP system directed to the WTRU, the PDG examines the status of the WTRU prior to forwarding the message to the WTRU.
L'invention concerne une méthode et un système pour fournir un état d'unité d'émission/réception sans fil (WTRU). Cette méthode consiste à fournir des services en temps réel sur un réseau local sans fil interagissant avec des systèmes 3GPP. Une entité, notamment une passerelle de données de paquets (PDG) d'un réseau 3GPP stocke et maintient l'état actuel du WTRU et met à jour l'état du WTRU lorsque celui-ci change. Le WTRU signale un changement de son état au PDG. Lorsque le PDG reçoit un message du système 3GPP dirigé vers le WTRU, le PDG examine le statut du WTRU, avant de réacheminer le message au WTRU.
