A method of regulating traffic flow to customer premises devices (CPDs) reachable via outside plant units (OPUs). The method comprises receiving first packets in a first traffic category via a first interface, the first packets being destined for respective CPDs; receiving second packets in a second traffic category via a second interface, the second packets being destined for respective CPDs; determining a destination OPU for each of the first and second packets. For each particular OPU that is the destination OPU for one or more packets, the packets are buffered and transmitted via an OPU interface for the particular OPU. The destination OPU for a particular packet is determined by identifying the OPU via which the CPD for which the particular packet is destined is reachable. Packet flow via the OPU interface is regulated by prioritizing transmission of first packets over transmission of second packets.
L'invention concerne un procédé de régulation de flux de trafic vers des dispositifs de locaux d'abonné (CPD) accessibles par des unités d'installations extérieures (OPU). Le procédé comprend : la réception de premiers paquets dans une première catégorie de trafic par le biais d?une première interface, les premiers paquets étant destinés à des CPD respectifs ; la réception de seconds paquets dans une seconde catégorie de trafic par le biais d?une seconde interface, les seconds paquets étant destinés à des CPD respectifs ; et la détermination d'une OPU de destination pour chacun desdits premiers et seconds paquets. Pour chaque OPU particulière qui est l'OPU de destination pour un ou plusieurs paquets, les paquets sont mis en mémoire tampon et transmis par le biais d?une interface OPU pour l'OPU particulière. L'OPU de destination pour un paquet particulier est déterminée par l'identification de l'OPU par laquelle le CPD, auquel le paquet particulier est destiné, est accessible. Le flux de paquets par le biais de l'interface OPU est régulé par la définition de priorités de transmission pour les premiers paquets par rapport aux seconds paquets.
