The invention is directed to a method for introducing compensating material (20) into a tire/wheel assembly (10). The compensating material is provided in a self-contained batch (30, 40) to facilitate shipping and handling. Upon insertion of the batch of compensating material within the tire and subsequent rotation of the tire, the batch disperses throughout the interior of the tire to compensate for radial and lateral force variations at the tire/road footprint of the tire/wheel assembly. The self-contained batch can take the form of an agglomerate (30), or may be sealed within a rupturable bag (40).

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant l'introduction d'un matériau (20) de compensation dans un ensemble (10) pneu/roue. Ce matériau de compensation se présente sous forme de portion (30, 40) unitaire ce qui facilite son transport et sa manipulation. Lorsqu'on introduit cette portion de matériau de compensation dans le pneu et qu'on fait ensuite tourner le pneu, le matériau est dispersé dans l'intérieur du pneu et permet de compenser les variations de force radiale et de force latérale au niveau du contact empreinte/route de l'ensemble pneu/roue. La portion unitaire peut se présenter sous forme d'un agglomérat (30) ou peut être scellée à l'intérieur d'un sac (60) frangible.
