Method and system for treating a waste stream in a care institution. The waste is presented in containers, such as chamber pots and other containers for liquid and other kinds of waste. According to the present invention, such waste can be supplied at different locations (2) (departments) and is immediately comminuted (3). This is followed by a separating stage (4) in which the waste stream is separated into container material and actual waste. The actual waste, such as urine and feces is fed to a bioreactor where the water is purified so that it may be re-used, if desired. If it is biodegradable, the container material may be subjected to a fermentation (38) step. The heat and gases released in the process may be used for heating the contents of the fermenter and/or generating power. It is also possible to feed kitchen waste., which may optionally have been comminuted, to the fermentation. The stream which leaves the fermentation may be separated into hard components which are filtered off and composted and into softer components which can be fed to the purification installation (5).
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un système de traitement d'un flux de déchets dans un établissement de soins. Les déchets sont présentés dans des récipients, tels que des pots de chambre et autres récipients pour liquides et autres types de déchets. Selon la présente invention, de tels déchets peuvent être acheminés vers différents lieux (2) (services) et sont immédiatement broyés (3). Cette opération est suivie d'une phase de séparation (4) dans laquelle le flux de déchets est séparé en matières de récipient et déchets réels. Les déchets réels, tels que l'urine et les matières fécales, sont acheminés vers un bioréacteur où l'eau est purifiée de sorte qu'elle puisse être réutilisée, si on le souhaite. Si elles sont biodégradables, les matières de récipient peuvent être soumises à une étape de fermentation (38). La chaleur et les gaz libérés au cours du processus peuvent être utilisés pour chauffer le contenu du fermenteur et/ou générer de l'énergie. Il est également possible d'amener les déchets domestiques, qui peuvent optionnellement avoir été broyés, jusqu'à la fermentation. Le flux obtenu après la fermentation peut être séparé en composants solides qui sont filtrés et compostés et en composants plus mous qui peuvent être acheminés jusqu'à l'installation de purification (5).
